Audit Tracker Online expands the functionalities of traditional recovery audit contractor (RAC) software to allow healthcare providers to manage incoming medical record requests for all types of payer audits. While RAC process management has been a recent focus for hospital administrators, the new software from MRO will manage the tracking and reporting processes of other payer audits, including private payers, quality improvement organizations and other Medicare- and Medicaid-based audits.

The customizable software manages patient information, workflow, correspondence, audit determinations, various stages of appeals processes, including secondary record shipments and supporting appeals documentation, deadlines and documents in one central, secure location. In addition to tracking all aspects of audit processes, Audit Tracker Online creates detailed trend analyses, identifying steps that will allow providers to enhance the claims process and improve clinical and financial information in an effort to avoid future audits.

With Audit Tracker Online, the audit request is logged into the system as a normal ROI request and the healthcare provider uploads the requested documentation for delivery to the auditor. Automatic audit requests with no required medical documentation can also be logged into the system for reporting purposes.
