Portal enhancements add e-delivery capabilities to expand flexibility and increase revenue for release-of-information (ROI) requesters
KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. – November 5, 2007 – MRO Corp., the market leader of in-house, release-of-information solutions for healthcare providers, today launched new portal capabilities to simplify the electronic delivery of medical records and give expanded flexibility to ROI requesters.
The new e-delivery service will provide immediate electronic access to medical records for MRO requester portal subscribers, including major record copy services, physicians, insurers, attorneys, government agencies and other requesters. Instead of mailing a check and waiting for a delivery service to arrive days later with the needed medical records, portal users can now pay with a credit card and download the records in the form of PDF files.
“The new requester portal gives our clients instant access to medical records,” said Stephen Hynes, EVP, client relations, MRO. “Electronic delivery is easy, clean and simple, and it satisfies the growing demand for online convenience. Let’s say a requester logs on to the portal and sees 35 outstanding requests. He or she can now pay for all of them at once – which not only prevents invoices from falling through the cracks, but also enhances the provider’s ability to collect revenue.”
In an industry that is rapidly moving away from paper-based systems, the availability of electronic delivery of medical records is becoming more of a necessity. However, in cases where traditional hand-delivery of medical records is still required, requesters may continue to trace packages using ROI Tracker, a function integrated into the requester portal.
