New electronic document capabilities enhance online release-of-information system performance
KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. – September, 2004 – MRO Corporation, one of the nations fastest growing release-of-information (ROI) service companies announced the availability of a document capture module fully compatible with Meditech’s document imaging products including Valco, Blue Chip and Meditech’s own scanning module. Using MRO’s WebPrint, documents can be fed directly into MRO’s release-of-information system, ROI Online. The Meditech interface adds to MRO’s growing list of HIM systems compatible with ROI Online. These include Clinical and Document Imaging solutions from McKesson, Cerner, Siemans, AMS, other client/server and thin client configurations, and a variety of CD-ROM and microfiche based systems operating on the desktop.
ROI Online is designed for healthcare providers to efficiently process release-of-information requests in-house. Facility personnel receive the request, pull or access the chart, and send the requested information directly into ROI Online using MRO’s unique browser-based scanning and document capture systems. MRO processes the request from there, handling all the time consuming fulfillment requirements such as billing, collections, logging & tracking, requestor relations & communications, and physical distribution of the requested record. MRO remits a percentage of the revenue back to the facility on a monthly basis.
“Many facilities have large quantities of healthcare documentation in an electronic format. WebPrint enables these facilities to efficiently capture documents for release and generate a profitable revenue stream by processing ROI internally in partnership with MRO”, stated Stephen Hynes, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for MRO. “This enhanced workflow enables the facility to further capitalize on their investment in the electronic system and keep control of their ROI process.”
Additional features of ROI Online include a Restrictions & Revocations database, duplicate request notifications, and date alarms for time-sensitive requests such as subpoenas. ROI Online also provides patient accounting and centralized billing operations with online access to requested records via MRO’s secure requester portal technology.
