Advancements expand functionality of audit tracking and reporting application

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. – May 05, 2010 – MRO Corp., a leading provider of disclosure management applications and services for healthcare organizations, today announced the launch of software upgrades for Audit Tracker Online. The upgrades to MRO’s request management program offer hospitals and health systems enhanced performance and functionality in effectively managing payer audits and denials from initial medical records request through appeals and payment resolution.

The newest modifications to the customizable software include:

  • Expanded ability to track additional types of audits such as ZPIC, MIC, CGI Federal/Medicaid and many others;
  • Enhanced workflow to manage audit review process;
  • Ability to send and track appeals shipments to various appeal entities;
  • Updated user management screens and dashboard features;
  • Improved compliance protection for email notifications; and
  • Advanced data compatibility through American Hospital Association RACTrac application.

“As our clients continue to gain the direct experience of managing an influx of audit requests from Recovery Audit Contractors and other payer representatives, they demand consistently superior operational performance,” said Mike Rodgers, director of product management, MRO. “Through these enhancements to Audit Tracker Online, we’re advancing our technology in areas that directly impact the bottom lines and necessary compliance requirements of hospitals and health systems, while doing what we can to facilitate this complex process for all parties involved.”

With the software, healthcare facilities are able to manage patient information, workflow, correspondence, audit determinations and the various stages of the appeals processes. This includes secondary record shipments and the ability to support appeals documentation, deadlines and documents in one central, secure location. In addition to tracking all aspects of audit processes, Audit Tracker Online creates detailed trend analyses, identifying steps that will allow providers to enhance the claims process and improve clinical and financial information in an effort to avoid future audits.

While RAC process management has been a recent focus for hospital administrators, Audit Tracker Online allows monitoring and management of a variety of payer audits and denials – including private payers, quality improvement organizations and other Medicare- and Medicaid-based audits.
